Following our nomadic beginning: two years of running Pop Up ventures across town, we have finally found our base and opened our first permanent gallery in the heart of Clapham, London SW11. JP Art Gallery will be a regularly rotating exhibition which showcases a collection of some of the most talented emerging contemporary Artists both from the UK and internationally.
It's been an exciting couple of weeks: the moment the keys were couriered over, we started painting the exterior and interior of our new space. Then signage and lighting were installed, all in preparation for us receiving nearly 100 selected artworks and the first gallery hang. There were a few unexpected obstacles to say the least plus late nights but on target 7 days later with the help of friends and family we were ready and opened at 10 am sharp Saturday 30 May.
A quirky space, you might notice the stairs are at the front of the gallery, comprises two levels and is located in close proximity to lots of interesting boutique shops, a few other galleries and plenty of great restaurants and bars. Also literally just minutes away is Clapham Common and the hustle of the well known Northcote Road.
What's made the hardwork so worthwhile for us already is the generous welcome we've received from both the local residents and retailers. There's a sense of community here, a friendliness, people have time to chat and you get the feel that a lot is happening. George, four doors down at Maison Rose also cut my hair for a tener! Yep. Normally too I have to explain, 'yes I'm 100% sure that I'd like to keep my basin haircut'. He didn't flinch and suggest a bob could be a more modern option.
On Thursday 25 June we will be celebrating the official opening of JP Art Gallery with a Private View evening between 6:30 - 9:30 pm. This will be an opportunity for you to view the current collection of artworks, meet many of our Artists and naturally to enjoy an endless flow of Prosecco!

Our gallery plans include a regular programme of events: 6 - 8 weekly private views, small group and solo exhibitions, Artist talks and starting Autumn' 15 art workshops for both children and adults.
New artworks will be introduced to the gallery on a fortnightly basis, a diverse collection across many genres: abstract, figurative, landscape paintings; limited edition prints, ceramics and sculpture.

Please note that our current gallery opening hours are for a trial period and may need to be adjusted in the future, but we will provide a good period of notice if we change them :
